Sermons
Each week a sermon is given during the Divine Liturgy. The origin of the sermon lies in the fact that most people could not understand the language of the Bible. The bishops and priests would therefore take time out of the service to explain the meaning behind these Gospel and Epistle lessons so that the flock would be able to understand.
