Junior Olympics 2010
April 5, 2010
Hristos Anesti.
As father mentioned and for those who do not know, there is another great event that occurs between Easter our Greek Festival: the Jr. Olympics
The Jr. Olympics take place over Memorial Day weekend and in brings in not only all Greek Orthodox church’s from around Chicago but from Indiana, Wisconsin and St. Louis to compete in various events in an Olympic type of format for ages ranging from 7-18.
Those events include:
· Track & Field
· Soccer
· Swimming
· Tennis
· Basketball
· Volleyball
· Wrestling
· Board games: chess, checkers and backgammon
· Softball
St. Nectarios has always done well and is looking to build off that tradition. Teams are being formed right now and some practices have already started.
Please do not wait to sign up your children and loose practice time or perhaps even have that event locked up because someone decided to sign up late.
Registration is now featured on the St. Nectarios website. All required information (contact info, waivers, insurance forms, age groups, registration of events, t shirt orders and payment) can all be taken care of easily and quickly on the church’s website.
I want to see some serious St. Nectarios swagger. Strong practices and strong showings. Its confidence – not arrogance. And for those who didn’t hear it from me last year – the only thing I hate more than loosing is coming in fourth place without having any practices. Just imagine what a couple of good weeks of practice could have done for preparing.
Any questions or comments, please let me know : cell 847/274-1453 and email : sraftis@comcast.net.
Thank you for your support.
